Switching to a TLD?
Posted Friday - Jan. 22, 2010 at 11:57 pm Filed Under Projects, Webbing

I’m really thinking about switching to a TLD domain now. :( And to another web hosting provider perhaps. Not that I have anything against my current host! But I’d rather leave Healing-Touch.uni.cc here and use it as a collective, because you know… somehow, this blog is not getting its rankings anymore, and I don’t know why. ._. I guess it has something to do with it being a uni.cc domain, but I still think it’s unfair, you know… So you see, I’m looking for a webhosting reseller and for domain suggestions, please. Anything is highly welcome dear kids! ;)

I have spent the day reading web hosting news to get an idea, but I don’t know yet. All the providers listed on the site, and the tips on their blog, they’re all good… but it’s all still out of budget for me. I wonder if I’m not asking for too much perhaps….? I know my parents can’t afford paying a hosting account for me, and I have to manage it all on my own. I might ask Jazz to help me out with this project, but he’s always so busy with his family and his things, that he doesn’t even get much online anymore. He hasn’t updated his website in months, so I guess he’s got no much time to dedicate to me right now.

Oh well, I’ll get to sort things out, eventually. The transition would cause a loss of rankings on all fronts of course, but it would just be temporary, so I ain’t worrying too much. One has to face all consequences of a choice. ^^ This uni.cc domain will STAY as a collective, so it won’t be wasted. I just really need a change, and I hope my friends are going to understand my reasons.

Now, wish me luck, because I have NO idea where to start looking for a good domain name! XD Ahah. Suggestions are welcome!

Counseling, a delicate matter
Posted Monday - Jan. 11, 2010 at 9:43 pm Filed Under Projects, Reflections

My most loyal readers have surely read through all my previous post, regarding drug rehabilitation. :) Well, I feel like writing more about that subject today, since I’m actively helping my father with spreading this campaign to promote drug treatment and rehabilitation for those people who, for a number of reasons, have fallen into a drug and/or alcohol addiction.

It’s important that we all understand that these people who are suffering from addiction are not necessarity criminals. Often time they are simply persons who have lost their faith in life, their sense of belonging and of living, consequentely to a job or dear person loss, discrimination, sense of inadequacy or disadaptation issues. What these people need is a gradual, specific drug rehab that would help them come out of the addiction, finding new reasons to live a normal life, without the help of substances that alter the perception of the world, creating the illusion of a happy life that was meant to fill the gap left in real life. Because THAT is why people go on drugs and/or alcohol dependancy: they try to find the happiness they need to go on with life in ‘masks’ given by these substances.

That is why addiction treatment requires gradual counseling, whose goal is to rehabilitate the addicted person to re-gain self-consciousness, self-confidence, control over the addiction, and ability to communicate with others. So you see, counseling is a delicate matter, and pushing too much could cause more harm than good.

My father is collaborating with the rehab center in Genzano to help these persons re-aquire self-esteem and a love for life that they’ve lost in their addiction, and I’m volunteering as well, doing what I can and helping spread the word about this. If you want to help too, just refer to this blog entry. :) This is a first step to fight discrimination against so-called ‘criminals’ who aren’t criminals at all: just poor people who are in desperate need of help and understanding.

New year concerns and projects
Posted Wednesday - Jan. 6, 2010 at 10:14 am Filed Under Projects, Reflections

Happy New Year, my dear buddies! ;) How did you spend the Year Eve? Hopefully it was as exciting as mine (yep! we had a fabulous celebration in Robocity, with songs, dances, and fireworks). :D

However, the celebration is not what I’m going to talk about in this entry. This is about something more serious, on which I’m currently working together with my father at his lab researches. It’s about alchool and drug addiction.

The reason why I’m prioritizing this project as an entry subject is the following: too many of my and my father’s friends, especially outside our city, are suffering the consequences that alchool and drug addiction brought to their lives. Most of them are under drug treatment at a rehab center now, while others are still wandering around, on and off on their doses. That is what pushed my father and I to work together on a sensibilization project in collaboration with a rehab center in Genzano, the city that hosts Robocity. Our aim is to spread the word about the damanges that alchool abuse and drug addiction can cause to people’s brains and metabolism, as well as more serious consequences that can lead to death: liver cancer, allucinations, dependance, and fetal malformations if used during pregnancy. And there’s a lot more to that.

Often times, people who make use of these substances are living through a though time, such like disoccupation, job loss, a dear person’s death, some kind of serious depression, desperation. So, the first thing we’re going to do together with the drug rehab center is to – first – offer consulence and psychological help, and – second – find a proper addiction treatment for each specific case.

Addiction is a serious issue, guys. Be careful, and if you have any friends or relatives suffering from abstinence or other symptoms, refer them to a local rehab center with psychological consulence. The first step is always to understand what’s going on before action is taken.

Sweet award! :3

Thank you so much sis Moonzkie for this award! It’s been a while since I received one ;D Hehe. Thanks sissy!

The rules and regulations for this award are:

1. As a dedication for those who love blogging and love to encourage friendships through blogging.

2. To seek the reasons why we all love blogging.

3. Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it.

4. Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award.

5. Answer the award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging.

6. Tag and distribute the award to as many people as you like.

7. Don’t forget to notify the award receivers and put their links in your post.

Why do I love blogging?

I started blogging back on 2007 because I wanted to let my feelings and emotions out in a place where people could share these same feelings with me. I used to keep paper diaries before (and I still do!) but they are very private, they can’t be shared. Blogging is fun and lets me meet people all around the universe, both humans and robots and aliens, and I really cherish this great possibility that only the Internet can give. :) I don’t want to stop blogging, because it releases my stress, and because I never want to give up on my online friends, never ever!

I would like to pass this award to:
